Mr Dubai: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, owns the 63,000-Acre Inverinate Estate in Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands.
The royal property, purchased more than two decades ago for around £2 million (about US$2.7 million), is one of the largest privately owned estates in Scotland.Despite its enormous size and luxury facilities, reports say Sheikh Mohammed has visited the estate only five times in the last 20 years.

The Inverinate Estate already features a 14-bedroom holiday home, a 16-bedroom hunting lodge, staff accommodation, a separate cottage, a swimming pool, a gym and several supporting buildings.Even with these facilities, the available accommodation is still considered insufficient for larger royal visits.To solve the issue, plans have been submitted to build a new 15-bedroom guest lodge. Once approved, the estate will have more than 58 bedrooms, making it easier to host the royal family and their accompanying staff.
