KLM Dubai flights will remain suspended through March 27, 2027, leaving passengers booked on the Amsterdam–Dubai route facing changes to their winter travel plans.
The Dutch airline confirmed the extension in an October 26 update, saying it would not operate between Amsterdam and Dubai during the entire 2026–27 winter season. The suspension includes March 27 itself.
For travellers, the important distinction is that this is a KLM route suspension—not a cancellation of every airline’s flights to Dubai.

Which KLM Dubai Flights Are Affected?
The announcement covers KLM-operated services between Amsterdam and Dubai in both directions.
That affects passengers travelling directly between the two cities, as well as travellers whose itineraries include the KLM-operated Dubai sector alongside a connection through Amsterdam.
The airline’s statement does not establish a confirmed restart date. Although the suspension runs through March 27, passengers should not interpret that as a guarantee that flights will resume on March 28.
Anyone planning a trip beyond the suspension period should check the latest operating schedule before making arrangements.

Why Has KLM Extended the Suspension?
KLM announced the Dubai extension as part of an adjustment to its Middle East flight schedule.
The October 26 update sets out the revised operating dates but does not provide a detailed new explanation for the Dubai decision. It should therefore not be confused with separate reports about maintenance-related cancellations elsewhere in KLM’s network.
The same Middle East update also extends the cancellation of Riyadh and Dammam services through November 27, 2026. Those Saudi routes have a different suspension deadline from Dubai.

Already Booked? Start With Your Reservation
Passengers with an affected booking should check their reservation in KLM’s My Trip service or the airline’s app.
KLM says affected travellers can review their available rebooking and refund options through its disruption information.
Before choosing an alternative, check the complete itinerary rather than only the Dubai flight. A change to one sector can affect an onward connection or return journey.
If the booking was made through a travel agency, contact that agency about the changes and the options attached to the ticket.

Can You Rebook Your Flight?
KLM’s travel-alert page provides rebooking options, but the conditions matter.
The published waiver covers specified destinations, ticket-issue dates and travel periods. It is not an unrestricted promise that every passenger can move to any flight or date without conditions.
For the travel-alert provisions published on October 26:
- Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam are among the listed destinations.
- The stated travel period runs from February 28 through December 31, 2026.
- Tickets must originally have been issued on or before October 23, 2026.
- Free date changes depend on availability in the travel class shown on the original ticket.
- Under that particular date-change option, the new departure must be on or before February 28, 2027.
These waiver dates are not the same as the Dubai suspension deadline.
Passengers booked for January, February or March 2027 should therefore check the options offered for their own cancelled flight rather than assume the separate 2026 waiver applies unchanged.
Can You Get a Refund?
KLM says passengers can request a cash refund when their flight has been cancelled and they do not take an alternative flight.
Its online refund system assesses whether the booking qualifies for a full or partial refund. Eligibility can depend on which parts of the journey remain unused.
There is also an important booking warning: KLM says requesting a refund cancels all flights in that booking.
Travellers who still need another flight on the same reservation should review the consequences before submitting the request. A refund should not be treated as a way to cancel only one sector unless that arrangement has been confirmed.

Does This Mean All Dubai Flights Are Cancelled?
No. The announcement concerns KLM’s Amsterdam–Dubai operation.
It does not establish the status of another airline’s Dubai flights, including services sold under a different flight number or operated by a partner carrier.
For a connecting or codeshare itinerary, check the operating airline for each sector. The company selling a ticket and the airline operating the aircraft are not always the same.
The practical question is not simply whether the booking mentions Dubai, but whether it includes an affected KLM-operated flight.
What Travellers Should Check Before Making New Plans
A few details deserve attention before accepting a replacement itinerary:
- Whether every flight in the reservation is confirmed.
- The operating airline for each sector.
- Any change to departure or arrival airports.
- Connection times and overnight stops.
- Baggage arrangements on the replacement journey.
- Transit or entry requirements if the routing changes.
- Whether a refund request would cancel flights the passenger still intends to use.
Keep the cancellation notification and any revised booking confirmation together so the latest itinerary is easy to identify.
What Happens Next?
For now, KLM’s published position is clear: its Amsterdam–Dubai flights will not operate through March 27, 2027.
The next significant update will be a revised operating announcement or confirmed return schedule. Until then, affected travellers should use their individual booking details to assess rebooking or refund options rather than rely on an assumed restart date.
