Dubai is moving ahead with plans for a new Airport Express Line that could directly connect Dubai International Airport (DXB) with Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), creating a faster link between the city’s two major aviation hubs.
The proposed Dubai Airport Express Line will stretch about 55 kilometres and include five stations. The latest development comes after Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) received six bids from international infrastructure groups for the project.
A Direct Link Between DXB and DWC
The proposed route would begin at the Dubai Metro Red Line station at DXB and pass through areas including Al Jaddaf and Al Khail Road, before reaching a planned station at Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC).
From there, the line would continue towards Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South. Planned connections would also extend towards Business Bay and the Dubai Marina area, improving access between major business, residential and aviation hubs.
Airport Travel Could Become Easier
One of the most notable features being considered for the Dubai Airport Express Line is the possibility of remote airline check-in and baggage drop-off facilities at stations.
