Gold prices in Dubai moved lower again on Wednesday, adding to the decline seen earlier in the week as the local market pulled back from the higher levels recorded in August. The price of 24K gold slipped to Dh522.50 per gram, compared with Dh526 on Tuesday. That marks a further Dh3.50 decline in a single day.Meanwhile, 22K gold fell to Dh483.75 per gram, down from Dh487 on Tuesday.

Gold Market Gives Back Recent Gains

The latest decline means 24K gold is now Dh8.25 below Monday’s Dh530.75 level. Over the same period, the 22K rate has dropped by Dh7.75, from Dh491.50.Despite the recent weakness, Dubai gold prices remain well above where they started the month.

At the beginning of August, 24K gold was trading at around Dh487.25 per gram. The price then climbed steadily, crossing the Dh500 mark before reaching Dh533.25 on August 12, the highest level recorded in the figures for the month.Wednesday’s rate is therefore Dh10.75 below that August peak, but still Dh35.25 higher than the price recorded on August 1.

22K Gold Follows the Same Trend

The 22K segment has also followed a similar pattern.Prices started August at approximately Dh451.25 per gram and climbed to Dh494 on August 12. Since then, the rate has gradually moved lower, reaching Dh483.75 on Wednesday. The movement shows how quickly Dubai’s retail gold prices can change after a strong upward run.

Global Gold Market Shows Signs of Recovery

The decline in Dubai came even as international gold prices showed some signs of recovery on Wednesday.Gold prices globally rebounded after the previous session’s sharp sell-off, as pressure from the US bond market eased. The metal had fallen significantly during the previous session, with changing Treasury yields influencing investor sentiment.International gold was trading above $4,360 an ounce after recovering from its previous decline.

What to Watch Next

For Dubai gold buyers, the key question now is whether the recent decline will continue or whether prices will stabilise after giving back part of August’s gains. The market remains considerably higher than it was at the start of the month, despite the pullback from the recent peak. For shoppers and investors watching Dubai gold prices, the next few trading sessions could provide a clearer indication of whether this is simply a short-term correction or the beginning of a broader downward move.
